These discussions are definitely eye-opening and quite disturbing, especially the posts that refer to low morale among the AA teachers.

So, what actionable step(s) can be taken now? Even though this Forum is a good vehicle for discussion, it’s not a specific way to get something actually done. Do we need to organize a large meeting between the parents and the Board?

Current parent, I think your idea is a good one. It is time for accountability. I would advise you to go in with at least one sophisticated financial adviser prepared to ask the questions. You undoubtedly have a few in the current parent body. Also inquire about who is leading fundraising efforts, what they are being paid, and what are the results. Fundraising in this environment is no easy task, but leadership here should be active and capable players.

I think the answer is clear. We have to insist that the board answer our questions clearly and honestly in writing, followed by an evening public forum.

I was pleased with the tone of Mr. Honegger’s Feb 11 letter. He seemed much more sensitive to the need to listen. But I was really disappointed with its content.

One phrase really struck me as odd: “And because our work, research, and engagement is ongoing, we expect our information sharing to grow organically over the coming weeks and months.”

What does “grow organically” mean? Looks an awful lot like stalling to me…
